Nora M Aborehab

Lecturer of Biochemistry
Department of Biochemistry
Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University

In 2014, Dr. Nora Aborehab had earned the PhD degree from Al-Azhar University in Cairo after working on the use of copeptin as a marker for early diagnosis of myocardial infarction within the first three hours after acute chest pain in Egyptian population where she studied the effects of biomarkers involved in cardiovascular homeostasis and investigated the difference between non-ST elevation MI and unstable angina using a combination for a better specificity and sensitivity which was provided by the use of copeptin and troponin-I in Egyptians. From 2006 till 2014 she worked as teaching assistant, assistant lecturer at MSA University. From 2014 till now she worked as a lecturer of Biochemistry at MSA University

Research interests:

1- She is interested in the molecular biology field mainly in the genetic predisposition to diseases by studying the genetic polymorphisms also the use of new herbal extracts on several diseaes.
2- Dr Nora Aborehab’s current research activities include the evaluation of some new herbal extracts on high fat diet induced obesity in rats and their correlation with glucose homeostasis
3- She also investigate the use of some drugs and herbal extracts on hepatotoxicity, liver fibrosis and liver cancer.
4- She also evaluate the use of some drugs and herbal extracts on osteoarthritis This work employs molecular biology techniques including conventional PCR, real-time PCR, in addition to the analytical techniques including spectrophotometry, ELISA and HPLC. This work would be expanded to study the effects of these herbal extracts on human population as a clinical studies.
