David J. Thomas, Ph.D., LMHC, currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Justice Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University where he heads the Forensic Behavioral Analysis Program. He has a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology and a Master’s in Education. In addition to his academic pursuits: Dr. Thomas is a retired police officer, retiring from the Gainesville Police Department after twenty years of service. Dr. Thomas is a Senior Research Fellow with the Police Foundation where he is tasked with investigating a number of police related issues. Finally, he is the CEO of Police Counseling Services, LLC where he provides consulting and counseling services to several law enforcement agencies in North Florida.
